Our mission is to restore wild salmon and traditional cultural values to Sierra Nevada Communities. Sierra Salmon Alliance collaboratively defines public policy directives that favor long-term community sustainability. FERC Consultation Our core agenda is to actively build balanced, productive and meaningful relationships between Native American communities, local community, governmental and corporate interests through education, community awareness of issues that impede environmentally sensitive watershed management, and public policy justice. In nurturing these relationships, Sierra Salmon Alliance helps to restore balance to the ecological, economic, social and spiritual lifeways of community by: 1) calling back wild salmon to rivers and tributaries of the Sierra Nevada foothills and Central Valley of California, 2) improving the quality and quantity of water to this region for the restoration and support of traditional cultural places and lifeways, and, 3) develop sustainable community-based economic opportunity through ecological minded electric generation and energy conservation. Our work encourages all people, all nations, to come together as one people to address these critical issues in creative ways.
