This is the home of Sonia Cabano ShowChef. Sonia s the well-known presenter of SABC3’s popular food programme, ‘Pampoen tot Perlemoen’. Her vivacious and humorous, hands-on approach to cooking in live demonstrations is much sought after by corporate clients, who value her ability to convey information in an entertaining way. Sonia also gives cooking classes and organises food-and-wine pairing events on request. She is available for bookings as private chef to select clients. “I love cooking because I love life, and I love people,” Sonia says. “Making and sharing delicious food is the best way I know to celebrate the joy of being alive. Sharing food unites people and it helps us discover and honour our common values. “South African cooking is an expression of our culture, I think, a rich and powerful stream fed by many diverse tributaries – Dutch, Malay, French, German, British, Jewish, Greek, Portuguese, Indian and African.
