The Divine Spark
This blog chronicles the reflections of a traveler engaging in a journey to commune with God. This journey takes place along a mystical path; a nonlinear, non-formulaic excursion that seeks meaning beyond the parameters associated with modernist views of Christianity. Much of the journey attempts to wrestle with a theology encumbered by the bondage of systematic analysis. The notion of a divine spark or element as well as a neo-gnostic theology based on the Wisdom books and other non-canonical documents (e.g., Gnostic gospels of Phillip, Thomas, etc.) are explored. This journey is difficult, often messy and definitely experiential in nature. Yet, such a journey is more relevant to an emerging post-modern culture that finds modernity impotent in its ability to find meaning much less solutions to our world and its problems.”
