The Blue Ridge Veterinary Clinic was established in 1987 to allow me, Gail Hoyme, DVM, to practice high quality, low-volume, preventative medicine & surgery for well-loved companion animals. I wanted a practice wherein my patients could receive first class care on a case by case basis, whether it be in my facility, or a referral center when the need arose. I wanted to know the status of my cases as things occurred, not secondhand through other vets, techs or kennel assistants. I wanted my practice to be intimate enough to know my clients and their pets, and yet, to have a personal life and time to enjoy it. Out of that philosophy, the Blue Ridge Vet. Clinic has come a happy place to work for me & my staff, as well as a reassuring setting to practice veterinary medicine in a low stress,
caring atmosphere. We actually have dogs, and a few cats, that, according to their people, look forward to coming to stay at the clinic (usually when boarding), or at least, don't tremble in fear at the notion. We try our level best to provide our services with the least amount of fear & stress for our patients.
