Mountain Man Bronzes by B R Pettit displays the artwork of sculptor B R Pettit. Known best for his monumental work "William Shirley Williams" a statue of Ole Bill Williams that stands as a sentinel to the "Gateway to the Grand Canyon" in Williams, AZ. The monument unveiled by Senator Barry Goldwater in 1980, has become a Route 66 icon and is denoted IAS AZ000467 by Smithsonian American Art Museum's Inventories. Pettit's work was owned by President Ronald Reagan and was displayed in the Oval Office throughout his terms in office. The bronze sculpture "Ole Bill Williams" is currently in the collection of the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library. Pettit's work in the Western, mountain man gendre has been shown in Sedona, AZ and collected all over the Southwest USA.
