Owen Landscape Architect won the Mississauga Millennium Design Icon for Excellence in Urban Design in the year 2000 for the Hatch Building 2800 Speakman Drive. Award for Excellence in Design from The Town of Markham for Steelcase Canada Limited Headquarters. Markham Design Excellence Awards in 2001(Quadrangle Architects); Scarborough Urban Design Award in 1994 for the institutional project Scarborough Centre for Alternative Studies
Senior project manager at the Toronto firm The MBTW Watchorn Group located in Toronto. Worked on Rivertowne / Don Mount Court development; Oak Bay resort development (Eden Oak Developers); The Bohemian Embassy, East Markham Community Centre; Dean Park (Site Plan Approval) project included a Roof Garden.
Peter Owen was mentored Franc Amsen. Peter Owen's father John E. Owen was an architect with the firm Neish Owen Rowland and Roy (NORR), a firm based in Toronto. This firm grew out of the pioneering firm John B. Parkin and Associates
