The Rushford Files, a site dedicated to giving a voice to victims of medical malpractice and arbitration abuse. This site was founded by Gary and Sharon Rushford. Gary Rushford had his right leg amputated above the knee in 1998 at Kaiser Permanente’s Santa Clara facility by Dr. Richard Lynn Frazier. A simple blood thinning medication was all that was needed. Three years after the amputation of Gary’s leg Stanford Medical Center diagnosed Gary’s medical condition with a simple blood test. This test, for Anticardiolipin Antibody, was never done prior to the amputation, or if it was done and overlooked, the results were pulled from Gary’s medical records. At arbitration, Kaiser offered expert testimony that Gary had Buerger’s Disease, a disease for which there is no test and no treatment. Not one of Gary’s treating physician’s ever diagnosed Gary as having this disease, yet Kaiser’s attorney convinced a “neutral” arbitrator that he did in fact have it. After procuring a win at arbitration Kaiser sent Gary to Stanford where a single blood test diagnosed Gary’s condition as Anticardiolipin Antibody. This test was never done prior to Gary’s amputation despite false testimony from his doctors that it had.
