Marcus Young
As the son of a Shotokan Master, the seed for Marcus Young’s career was planted early in his life. Following in his Father’s footsteps provided an exceptional martial arts foundation as well as a national ranking on the competitive circuit in 1995. However, his own interests were more out of a creative nature, which led him to California State University Northridge where he graduated in 1996 with a degree in Film Production. He discovered that as a stunt performer the discipline and athleticism of his martial arts background provided an avenue for him to pursue his passion for a career in the creative arts. Over the next several years’ hard work, perseverance and physical talent earned Young first-rate status within the industry, and in 2004 he was accepted into Stunts Unlimited. His filmmaking training allowed him to work synergistically with some of the world’s top directors, which contributed to his success as a performer and coordinator. His goal, however, has always been to work behind the camera so that he may parlay the momentum of his stunt career to directing action. He began to work as an action/second unit director for film and television, as well as direct independent projects. In 2005 he earned his membership into the DGA (Directors Guild of America.) He also is the founder of ColdZero Productions, a production company formed to enlighten and creatively stimulate his audiences. He continues to work as one of the industry’s elite.
