JETTE STOLTE PHOTOGRAPHY
Originally from Berlin, Jette Stolte now spends most of her time between Berlin and London where she studied Fine Art Photography at Camberwell College of Arts, University of the Arts.
Jette Stolte's photographic work is strongly influenced by her Fine Art background and her experience at the Fashion and Art magazine 'TANK', where she worked whilst at university. In her often de-saturated fashion photographs she primarily shows beautiful, confident and modern females and plays with the conventional idea that her subjects are there only to be looked at. The people in her photographs are sometimes confrontational, looking back at the viewer, but more often there's a filmic quality to her work, a subtle and sometimes eerie atmosphere in which her subjects seem to exist outside of everyday life, regardless of the viewer. This haunting and beautiful mood pervades both Jette Stolte's fashion and art photographs and shows how her Fine Art background continues to influence her work, bringing art and fashion together.
Jette has published work in various magazines such as 'Tank', the Observer's fashion supplement 'O' magazine, 'Blond' etc.

Ray Donley, the art of los bien perdidos
Ray Donley Fine Art, Oil paintings. Since 1981 Mr. Donley has been exhibiting in museums, universities, and galleries within the U.S., Europe, and in Mexico. The figures portrayed in his paintings - paintings that have, over the years, attracted a near cult-like following - form a part of the cycle of work he calls Los Bien Perdidos (the profoundly lost ones). Mr. Donley currently lives in Austin, Texas.Ray Donley's paintings are part of the New Old Masterism, a slowly but steadily emerging trend in contemporary art, involving not so much a return to order as it was once called, but the realization that avant-garde art has become an institutional clich - hypertrophied, as Clement Greenburg put it years ago - and that what once looked like the clichs of Old Master art are still full of potential. Donley is clearly a master of the medium of oil paint, as his subtle layering and textural richness suggest. It is highly evocative - emotionally persuasive all the more so because of Donley's exquisite chiaroscuro. Donley's imagination needs no prompting. The Old Masters intuitively understood that there is always something strange in beauty, as the philosoper Francis Bacon said, a perception confirmed by the strange beauty of Donley's paintings, as well as the strangely philosophical figures that they bring to life.
