My passion in photography started when I was very young. I took pictures of everything, especially rainbows and sunsets. When I became a parent my photos became focused on my children, trying to capture the special moments in their lives. Please browse the galleries below to see some of my works. I'm located in south-central Wisconsin. If there is a special photo you think I could help you capture, feel free to contact me at krookx@tds.net to discuss how I might help.

A few years ago, I had quit my job, packed up my household belongings and prepared my house to be rented. I had been accepted to be an international disaster relief volunteer by a well known organization. At the last minute, they called me and said that they no longer needed me.
Three days later I went on a silent retreat. I was prepared to pray and listen to what God had planned for my life instead of the cancelled adventure.
I kept getting the ‘message’ “I want you to do photography”. Now, I have puttered around with photography since I was 12 and developed and printed my own films in the bathroom.
“I already do photography,” I answered.
“I want you to really do photography.”
“You mean like a hobby?” I countered, hopefully...
“No, I want you to DO photography.”
“But everyone DOES photography.” I was getting kind of nervous
“I know, but I want you to do photography.”
I am in the habit of saying “YES SIR” to the Big Boss, but even so It took me a few months to get up the nerve to start ‘doing’ photography. Immediately, people began to appreciate my work and, to my amazement, people began to buy it. I kept bumping into people who had things to teach me about how to present and market my work.
I was able to get some consulting work in my other profession (mental health) that brought in enough money for me to afford to get an archival quality widebed printer. Everything kept falling into place.
I now split my time between mental health and art photography. I am especially fond of sunsets. I call them my ‘date with God’ in the evening. Art photography gives me an opportunity to lift people’s hearts by showing them the incredible beauty of God’s universe. It makes my heart sing!
