Sustainability at WCU
The Sustainability Advisory Council, formerly the Environmental Council,
is a multi-disciplinary advisory group that promotes and provides oversight
for sustainability issues at WCU. West Chester University recognizes that one of the most significant challenges facing humanity is
achieving a sustainable society. Accomplishing this depends on our ability to organize human activity so that society,
its members and its economies are able to meet their needs and express their greatest potential in the present as well
as the future. WCU intends to reduce its ecological impact and to promote research and service that foster regional and global sustainability.

Future Sustainability
Future Sustainability is an organization dedicated to sending 50% of its profits to projects helping orphanages from around the world become self sufficient. Many orphanages are completely dependent upon donations, our hope is that we will end this dependence by providing them with steady income (generated through our online store), education, and job opportunities. As the stability of each orphanage is built on a solid financial foundation, reserves would be set aside for constructing academic, vocational and technical schools on the grounds. These schools will allow for development of permanent and necessary skills to sustain life in a functional community.
