Tanja Katrin Lawhead comes from a family lineage of artists and writers. Having grown up on the road in Europe she received her education by instructors, extensive private tutoring, and self-education.Tanja began her career in graphics and web design in the online advertisement, e-commerce, and entertainment fields. As internet technology evolved she shifted her attention to web video and evolved along with the technology. She offered a wide range of services such as professional videography, and motion graphics, which she translated into cutting edge web video distribution services for cultural institutes, cultural festivals, and museums in Europe.Tanja moved to California where she dove into film and television production. She is very time efficient and works well under time pressure and unrealistic schedules. She worked on visual effects for short films such as 'Nebulullaby' directed by Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Cat Solen. The short film was created at Sundance 2010 in a week. Screening at the festival the same night it was completed.Tanja worked with director Danny Leiner on post-production for Joshua Malina's series Backwash for Sony's Crackle.comShe is currently working on her film career and training in the Filipino martial art Kali-Silat, Jeet Kune Do, Savate and Muay Thai. Her head instructor is Daniel Sullivan who was personally taught under Guro Dan Inosanto. Other instructors of Tanja have included Ajarn Chai (Muay Thai), Guro Dan Inosanto (Kali Silat, and Jeet Kune Do), and Nicolas Saignac (Savate - French Kickboxing)Tanja Katrin Lawhead goes by the alias Tanja THE Awesome.
