Tap Airlines
TAP Airlines is an airline of Portugal. It was founded on 14th March 1985. It started its commercial service on 19th September 1946. Its first journey was from Lisbon to Madrid with a Douglas DC-3. In 1947 they started domestic service from Lisbon to Porto and Sao Tome to London. In the same year TAP purchased four Douglas DC-4 planes. In 1975 Tap became a state owned corporation and changed its name to TAP Air Portugal in the year 1979. TAP became a publicly-traded company in 1989. TAP Portugal became the 16th member of Star Alliance in 2005. In this year TAP Air Portugal was converted to TAP Portugal. Now TAP Airlines is one of the biggest airlines in the world and it services 79 destinations in 39 countries.
