This venture is the combined efforts of Chic Dillard, a restaurant consultant from Marietta, & Ronnie Schaeffer, a Master Plumber from Ringgold.
Chic & Ronnie met several years ago at a resort in North Georgia. Together with their wives they spent many enjoyable weekends in the mountains and a close friendship developed.
Chic has been in the restaurant business for many years. After years of managing a variety of concepts from large sports bars to fine dining restaurants, the idea of operating a small little barbecue restaurant seemed very appealing. While driving through Kennesaw one day Chic spotted this little Shanty for rent in Kennesaw. discussing the location and idea of opening a barbecue restaurant with Ronnie, Chic was enlightened about how Kennesaw stole General from Ringgold, they still want their train back! Realizing this must be touchy subject Ringgold resident, conversation returned to topic, which Ronnie replied Let's Do It.
You can expect meet entire Dillard clan at Big Smokehouse. Sissy, wife, has been business more years than she will admit. Shannon, & Sissy daughter done everything waffle house cook Manager. On rare occasion son Travis may make an appearance, but we his involvement limited consumption department. thank our many friends that contributed time, skills, support during renovation process. are proud part City community look forward complimenting small businesses unique.
