TIN LY
Ly, an immigrant from Vietnam, has been working as a professional artist in South Florida for the past 25 years. He was honored with the coveted Visual and Media Artist Fellowship from the South Florida Cultural Consortium in
1990 and 1999; he had also received the Individual Artist Fellowship from the Florida Arts Council in 1986 and 1994. In 2000, he was honored to receive the Moretti Award for Artistic Achievement from the Cultural Foundation of Broward.
Among his many Public art commissions, he unveiled in 1999, with great public acclaim Communal Dream at the Homeless Assistance Center in Fort Lauderdale. Currently, he serves as Conservation Manager for the Broward County PublicArt and Design Program. Ly maintains a working studio and gallery in the Third Avenue Art District, northeast of Downtown Fort Lauderdale. His work has been exhibited widely in museums and galleries throughout the United States and Hong Kong, and is included in the permanent collection of the Museum of Art in Fort Lauderdale, the Art and Culture Center of Hollywood, among others. His most recent one-person exhibition entitled Tin Ly: Substance and shadow was mounted at the Vero Beach Museum of Art in 2003.
