Intrepido Limited Website Intrepido is an
award-winning independent production company based in London and
Glasgow, working with some of the most exciting up-and-coming
international talent. Intrepido produces distinctive shorts as well as
developing and producing original quality feature films for the UK and
the international specialised market. In 2003 Intrepido was the first
company ever to win two consecutive commissions from the UK Film
Council and FilmFour for their prestigious Cinema Extreme scheme, from
over 500 submissions. Floating and One Minute Past Midnight screened in
Competition at the Edinburgh International Film Festival 2004 and One
Minute Past Midnight has just won the top award, the Gold Hugo, at the
Chicago International Film Festival. Intrepido's first short film
Breaking Out screened in Competition at Cannes 2004 Critics' Week and
won the Audience Award at Premiers Plans European Film Festival in
Angers, January 2005 and also screened at many established
international film festivals, including Edinburgh, London,
Clermont-Ferrand and Bilbao. Intrepido's slate of projects in
development include the debut features of BAFTA 2004-nominated director
Mark Walker (Floating, Sea Monsters, Scorn), based on the novel, The
Face, by Phil Whitaker and a contemporary drama, In the Shadow of the
Moon, by twice Cannes competitor Marianela Maldonado (Breaking Out,
Critics' Week 2004; The Look of Happiness, Cinefondation, Cannes 2002),
which was among the ten projects selected for the Maurits Binger
Screenwriting Programme 2005. Intrepido was established in 2002 by
MEDIA Business School/National Film and Television School graduate
producer Lachlan MacKinnon and MEDIA Business School graduate Paola
Minazzato. Intrepido recently completed Executive Producing The
Smirnoff Reel Talent Award in association with The Script Factory, The
Hospital, Britshorts and The Independent.
