12 Travelers Project
The Twelve Traveler project is a project inspired by Tom Lea and adopted by the Artist John Houser and his son Ethan Houser. The figures used in this project were icons of southwestern history and had an impact to the local history or helped shape the region. It is understood that some of the figures selected may have had enormous flaws, but nevertheless impacted the history of the region. This is a non-profit project and the development and establishment of the artistic pieces are dependent upon privately raised funds. The goal of the XII Travelers project is to provide the City of El Paso statues that can aid in the revitalization of downtown El Paso, provide the citizenry with public art pieces that assist in the education of the region’s past and those that have helped shape Paso Del Norte. Below are other projects that are in the pipeline and a brief history of the contributions of those identified as Twelve Travelers.
