Life and Times of Vera Trombonita.It
all started with the dream of a little girl.Daddy I wanna play trombone!
Because of growing up in a little village in Germany where no trombones stick
around and no teacher could be found, just impossible circumstances, the dream
had to be put to sleep. What a crazy wish the family thought, where did she
pick that up? Always in love with music she did the whole school education and later decided to study
engineering. She moved to Berlin and got into the groove of taking care of everything
technical multifunctional office buildings and all kinds of luxurious family
houses would need, like heat, sanitary, swimming pools and air-conditioning.
While working professionally as an engineer, a pipe expert, the multicultural
influence of Berlin exposed her to more than what pipes could function for buildings
only, they could also make noise!
The trombone, a moving pipe! What a wonderful discovery. The old dream popped
up as a refreshing invitation to new adventures and experiences. While working
she started to take lessons and the love of her dream was born.She
moved to New York to learn from the best like Art Baron, Jack Gale, Douglas
Purviance, Conrad Herwig, Joe Fiedler and Marcus Rojas, as well as others. She
started at Queens College to do her Masters in Music. She plays bass trombone,
tenor trombone and also tuba.When she came to New York she started to play with various bands in various styles
of music. While going along she discovered her talent for arranging and composing.
The possibilities at Queens College with such wonderful teachers like Michael
Phillip Mossman and Antonio Hart gave her the skills to grow into a totally
new field. She writes and composes her own music and her greatest love of all
kind of styles she developed for Latin music. Now she lives in the Bronx to
learn from the essence of the flavor.Enjoy the German Latina Trombonita!
