York Companies was created in 1980 with the opening of York Brothers Lawn Care. Kevin York had begun mowing lawns at age 12 and his desire to be an entrepreneur grew strong. The lawn company grew and developed over the next few years, soon becoming York Contractors, Inc. With the addition of irrigation installation and maintenance, outdoor lighting design, and drainage control system installation, York Contractors, Inc. quickly grew into a thriving business.
By 1987, York Contractors, Inc. employed several full-time install crews, full-time service professionals and an office and sales staff that kept the company running effectively and efficiently. It was at this time Kevin had a growing desire to move into the construction field. What began as just a passion to build something has become a Residential & Commercial Construction Company that has grown rapidly and, with Kevin as the driving force, York Construction Company, Inc. has developed with great success.
York Construction Company, Inc. began slowly with kitchen and bathroom remodels, deck additions and patio installs, but has grown into entire home renovation, commercial tenant finishes, and commercial condominium development. York Construction Company, Inc. has also become known for creating outdoor living areas to suit every size yard, budget and family need.
With the creation of outdoor living design, Kevin again became excited about doing more. After extensive research and training, Kevin began Pools by York, Inc. which installs and maintains in-ground pools, spas, and water features for any home size. Pools by York, Inc. was launched out of Kevin’s desire to create a relaxing place for his own family to enjoy. Pools by York, Inc. did its first pool project at Kevin’s own home and has completed many pool projects since.
