Parents are wonderful and usaully hatch all of their eggs.but they do not like anyone looking at their babies so I respect them...I hear them feeding the babies. I will be pulling the babies to hand feed in about 2 weeks Yeah. 4 sold 8 Cockatiel eggs,2 babies hatched -1 sold 4 Miltary Macaw eggs 2 babies hatched-sold 14 Quaker eggs.... We are a small aviary and we like it that way so we are able to give special attention to our babies. I Arthur and I live on a 2 acre farm in Youngsville, La. Over the past 5 years we have raised chickens, ducks, geese, rabbits, quail, guinea, and bantams. We have had a lot of experiences raising all of these animals. We have 2 dogs and 2 cats and when we go to feed all the animals they follow. It is not uncommon to see my husband run in the house with a baby that needs my undivided attention to stay alive. I get out the blow dryer, show the little baby some TLC and just watch as the baby comes to life in my hands. When I started to hand feed baby birds it gave me that same wonderful feeling. You have this little life that is dependent on you and you watch it grow and come to life right in your hands. When I decided to start raising birds my wonderful husband built me an aviary adjacent to the back of our house. I make birdie bread for my breeders and we have a garden so all of our breeders have fresh vegetables and lots of nourishment. All of our birds have toys inside their cages. We don't breed year round and when they're not breeding they are just normal birds who just love to play. There is never a dull moment at our house
