Geologists have determined that the eruption in 1883 was 200 times more powerful than the blast that destroyed Hiroshima. It lasted for several months with increasing force. In late May, first noticed a dust cloud above the Krakatoa volcano, and at least three months, the volcano went on and on the two craters, throwing rocks. When, in August Krakatoa, the largest crater, joined them the crash occurred.
