Hale Productions is the work of Clyde Hale (me). Many people call me Dusty, which is the nickname given to me at birth. I love to work with people and specialize in several styles of still shot photography. I’m an avid surfer so of course I love to shoot surf photography and feel comfortable shooting in the water and on the beach. I’ve been known to shoot in the water in large swell sizes and have developed techniques to swim for hours to shoot surfers in the curl at odd angles. It’s such a great feeling to capture someone doing something they love and I enjoy shooting the everyday surfer, the pro surfer, and the people who are just learning.
From 1999 to 2004 I lived in Atlanta, Georgia and operated a small photography studio. Not having the opportunity to surf at that time, I specialized in shooting for local musicians and artist. I was part owner and partnered with one of Atlanta’s best recording studios known as RexTrax Studios and had investments in the other studios as well. The work was usually done inside my loft studio adjacent to the recording studio using advanced studio Flash lighting with softboxes, umbrellas, and other reflections and often times on a solid backdrop for post digital extractions of the models. I also love to work with people and do portrait photography in many shapes and forms including couples, engagements, artists, musicians, children, family, and culture. I love working with people and making them feel comfortable in the eye of my lens. I’m especially interested to learn about the people I shoot and hear their stories and what makes them tick. I try to bring personalities and stories to life through my images. I’m also greatly interested in shooting your wedding and will offer discounted prices because I’m working on building my portfolio in the wedding area. I shoot with the highest quality professional equipment and always bring at least two cameras to shoot just in case of gear failure. I usually end up using two or more cameras on a gig to eliminate the need to change lenses in the middle of a shoot allowing me to capture images with several different style lenses. I like to get creative. I also specialize in post production image editing to correct any minor defects in exposure and perform touch ups to make your images really come to life. This would also include lighting and shadow adjustments and improvements to skin, blemish removals, etc as well as creative cropping, black and whites, sepia tones, and much more. I can even repair your old photo prints and breathe life back into them.
