Facts About The Elderberry Tree
The elderberry tree is found in many areas along the fence line that provides a nice, attractive boarder. It is commonly grown in areas where humidity is high and it stays wet frequently. It can also be found growing on its own along the wetlands including the swamps and some lakes. In some areas, they are even found in the canals. Both Florida and the Gulf of Mexico areas have an abundance of elderberry trees.

Beddingfield Farms
The pecan grove and fig trees have been cleared of overgrowth from years of neglect and the grapes have had a much needed pruning. Fruit and vegetable seeds are in the dirt and more on the way. The greenhouse is going up soon. We will be getting a high tunnel in a month or two, so that we will be able to extend our season and grow crops year-round without heat. We will be purchasing a walk-behind tractor that runs on bio-fuels in the very near future, so we can finish all of the tilling still needed to make room for the produce. We are in the process of fencing some of the pastures so we can incorporate various animals and animal products into our venture. We are building a roadside stand this summer and hope to have enough products to take some to farmers markets. We are laying the ground work and learning the ropes so that we can have a prosperous future and be able to provide high quality, all natural, ethically raised food for years to come. We have 250 acres of pastures, forests, lakes and wetlands. Weather you want to fish for bass & catfish, take the boat out on the 10 acre lake, take your dogs for a hike to wetlands, bird watch, camp in the woods or just sit quietly and listen to nature by one of the small secluded forest ponds, there is a lot to do out here!
