Joe Synan's interests in landscapes, seascapes, mountains, wildflowers, and native animals reflect his lifelong passion for being outdoors, and a special place in his heart for the wilderness. Joe daily runs or bikes among the woods and lakes near his home in Kingwood, Texas. Every winter his training for marathons takes him deep into the East Texas woods, and every spring his cycling takes him through the best of Texas wildflower country. He has been a watercolor student at the Glassell School of the Museum of Fine Arts Houston and is a member of the Watercolor Art Society of Houston, and he exhibits with the Museum District Artists' Guild.

Artist Statement
With my camera I explore order and beauty in nature. I endeavor to capture those fleeting moments when light touches a leaf, a ripple, a wave. I love vibrant colors that energize. I also seek soft palettes that convey peace and serenity.
Finding the right light is so critical that I often wake up at 4am, drive in the dark, set up my tripod in twilight and wait for the first rays of light to light up the scene, highlighting the crests of dunes, throwing long shadows, and creating magical combinations of light and land.
Bio
Abhi Ganju is a physician who lives and practices in the Chicago area. A Vermont trip in 1997 inspired an enduring passion for nature photography that has since “taken over my life.” A dozen photo workshops, a thousand rolls of film and voila! A second career as a fine art photographer was launched. Abhi has studied with nationally renowned photographers and has taken courses at the Art Institute of Chicago.
Abhi is most drawn to visual design and color. Her award winning photographs have been displayed in juried exhibitions, art galleries and health care settings. Abhi welcomes assignment work and she is a member of The Society for Arts in Healthcare.
