I'm Kristin, Petal and Thorn's founder, designer, and crafter (I do it all, folks!) I love to create, embellish, and beautify. As the owner of The Treasured Petal, a wedding floral company in Orange County, I am able to work with rare and wonderful flowers on a daily basis (gloriosa lilies are my favorite). But when a day of floral designing is done, and I'm snuggled on the couch with my hubby, two pups, and the little baby growing inside of me, I find that my mind and fingers aren't quite done working. While flowers are my first passion, I find great satisfaction in creating nonperishable accessories that can be worn and treasured for years and years.
My inspiration is, of course, flowers. I use my knowledge of flower structure and form to create my intricate handmade fabric flowers. I'm also inspired by the handmade movement swirling around right now. I love creating (and buying!) handmade items. I like knowing that each and every stitch, bead, and petal is there because a person, not a machine, lovingly put it there.
