The Powel Crosley Estate
Powel Crosley built the Florida winter home for his wife Gwendolyn in 1929. The two and one-half story Mediterranean mansion was built in the southwest corner of Bradenton on a 60 acre parcel of land on Sarasota Bay adjacent to the John Ringling Estate. The 11,000 square foot home was placed on the National Registry of Historic Places in 1982. Seagate was saved from commercial development and purchased for rennovation by Manatee County which operates it as a meeting, conference, and event venue, popular for weddings and receptions.

The job cuts represent a 16 percent reduction of Chrysler's production workforce, and about 5,300 of the 13,000 jobs to be cut will be in Michigan., Pedagogy - a word rarely used. And in our age of achievement testing, a bit of a lost art. For nearly 15 years I have been a professor in the university system. I guess by now I cease to be annoyed by the students who approach school like an obstacle course: hurdles they need to crawl under or jump over in order to achieve the grade they want.
