The Basilica of Bom Jesus, Old Goa, ranks among the finest churches of Goa and is richly decorated with elements borrowed from the Baroque. Yet, nothing could possibly better adorn this Basilica than the mortal remains of Saint Francis Xavier (1506-1552) that have been housed in this Church ever since 19 February 1624.
