I'm just a starving would-be artist and do-be petsitter. Not easily offended and possessing a sometimes dark sense of humor, I find beauty and humor in places many would not. All I have at the moment is my little Samsung cell phone, so as of now all the pictures you see were taken with that. I am certainly no professional and, although I've always been creatively inclined (or at least a little off center), have only recently started becoming obsessed with photography. I have many passions, some of which are reflected in my photos. I love nature of all sorts and have a special love for the animals (my "babies") for whom I pet-sit. I read voraciously, particularly nonfiction (in the genre of science/physics/neuropsychology/evo-devo/) but also literature by authors too numerous to mention, from James Joyce to Kathe Koja. I do beadwork and listen to all kinds of music...ok, not all kinds. I'll listen to anything once but I mostly love jazz and stuff like Peter Gabriel, Mr. Bungle, Radiohead, and Leonard Cohen. People keep telling me to put myself "out there" (and I thought I was already out there!) but I am terrible at marketing myself and asking for money. So here I am...

I have been taking pictures, like most photographers, pretty much all my life. As a youngster growing up in New York City, taking pictures on a more than casual basis was all but required of the men folk in my family. And photography has always been a passion of mine as long as I can remember.
In elementary school, armed with a Yashica 35mm, I joined the photography club and shot for the newspaper, but was also keenly interested in computers. By the time I reached high school (and moving a small town outside of New Orleans), I had found was also quite proficient with computers which became dominant for me, while photography remained a steady passion.
By the time I reached college I was banking on my technical, math and science skills and not my “left brain” landing me a financially rewarding job when I graduated. Thus, I started out as an Engineering Major, but my passion for technology ended me up graduating with a degree in Computer Science, from which I went straight to work for a big oil company. I later when on to work for Microsoft for many years and during that time digital photography had begun to make an imprint in the professional realms. And that really caught my attention! While I never put my film cameras down, I was patiently waiting for the convergence “digital” and “photography” to get rich enough for me to take digital photography seriously since at this stage, I wasn’t interested in building a dark room.
Alas, I got my first digital SLR as gift and my brain just went crazy… I was shooting everything that I could get in my view. As a high-end technologist, dealing with the technical aspects of the digital era was perfect for me since I had always loved technology, so those adaptations were and are easy for me.
And away I went.
In fairly short order, I was increasingly asked am I professional because I would “work” with my camera as if I were the house pro or commissioned to a project simply because I loved doing it. It was a good question, but my answer usually including something about me having to eat, pay mortgage buy gas and such…
I always knew that photography was something I did well, loved aspiring to do better in, loved gratifying others with my efforts, and loved providing a mechanism to keep the beholder in touch with a specific and unique Moment in space and time.
Professionally, I have been behind the shutter for the last 8 years or so (as of 2011). I am registered for business in Missouri City, TX.

Portraits, pictures, pitchers and catchers.
Beyond that, my personal interests drive my life. There they are (over there in my bio photo), my two loves: motorcycles and photography. I use the bike to get where I want to go to shoot what I need to shoot. I admit that I don't pack my studio on my bike. I have a studio for that. But I have been known to set up a portable studio for custom shoots of motorcycles.
I've been shooting steady for more than a decade. Before that was not the shooter, but rather the producer of television news. My photojournalism has taken first place awards in newspaper contests. My television documentaries has taken first and second place awards also.
Now, life is on the road, shooting, writing and riding.

My name is Bob Myers, and I am a Fire Alarm Operator in the City of Brockton MA. I have been involved in fire photography for over 35 years. Until the last few years when the digital age came about I shot 35 MM slides. Being from the Northeast and the land of fires, I have had a great opportunity to buff many fires.
