Welcome to LeCrawPhotography.com! My name is Chris LeCraw and I am excited about the opportunity to share my passion for pictures with you. I discovered my love of photography in high school when I “accidentally” took a cool picture while hiking in Colorado. From that moment, I realized I was blessed with an ability to see unique angles, compositions, and moments in places as exotic as Zanzibar and as simple as a country road. I was very rough at first, but thanks to practice and patient teaching from more experienced artists, I have been able to develop my passion for photography and work hard to capture images wherever I am. As any artist knows, there is always more to create, more room for improvement, and more opportunities to share your work as life goes on. I designed this website as a tool to share my pictures with you and, more importantly, give back to the people and places that are truly responsible for whatever quality one may find in these pictures.
I am of the belief that the person taking the picture is really only partly responsible for the resulting image; the photographer is only capturing what has been divinely-inspired and created, whether it’s a beautiful beach in Africa or a magnificent tower in London. I obviously didn’t make those places beautiful; I just did my best to capture it with my camera. Because of this, I want to be a good steward of the opportunities I’ve had to travel to these incredible places and capture them on film. You will find that all of my pictures on this website are available for purchase. It is my pledge that 50% of any profits I accumulate from selling these pictures will be given to organizations in the respective regions where these pictures were taken. For example, profits from pictures of Africa will go to organizations that help build wells to provide clean drinking water to the people of Africa or provide shelter, food, and education for orphans. A full list of designated charities will be available soon so that you can see where your contributions flow.

I always like to say that I'm a CPA trapped in a photographer's body. I realized my love and passion for photography a little over two years ago, when I began using my digital "point and shoot" camera to capture memorable moments of my family reunion. At that very moment a spark was lit that has since become a raging fire deep within me.
I had tapped into my latent "creative" potential for the very first time in my life. From that moment forward the desire would not diminish. Following tax season I decided to reward myself with a brand new, professional style, digital SLR camera. To date, it is a decision that was made without regrets.
My goal with each photograph I create is to have a person say, "Wow!" or to simply be amazed. I enjoy photographing a variety of subjects in such a way to have it be seen differently.
Luck has sometimes played a part in some of my most imaginative creations. Yet desire and motivation fuel even greater creative passions within me. I like to think the spirit of my Uncle Walter (aka Picture Man) is around me. He captured so many special moments of my family's life. I would be honored to possess just one-tenth of his talent.
