GINNY WALDEN FINE ART
~ In Galisteo, home of 150 artists ~ 22 miles outside Santa Fe, NEW MEXICO
~On The Hill ~ Galisteo Gallery & Sculpture Garden (505) 466 - 6913
~ Honolulu Studio (808) 489 - 0382
ARTIST'S STATEMENT 2011
~ "My work evolves in series, reflecting my personal transformations as I journey through the archetypal world and slowly awaken new layers of consciousness as I look through what I jokingly call my "pinhole of light".
~ DRAWING ~ My ink and pencil drawings erupt straight out of my unconscious with a raw honesty with dreamlike imagery. I explore my inner world though drawings first and then I put my observations into sculpture and painting.
~ SCULPTURE ~ My current wood carvings (pix pending) are human and mythical figures, alone and with animals and plants in pairs, circles, lines or in vertical totems. I am showing how all life forms intrinsically intertwine with our human lives. I think this is the beauty and wonder of Life itself, that we all depend on each other and affect each other. We each have our job to do to complete the Whole like cells in a body.
~ PAINTING ~ I explore the theme of interdependence in pastels and paintings. Quantum physics has discovered that our bodies constantly blink in and out of the physical ream and that we are 99.9% space.. I show how we are constantly between worlds by creating aura-like colors , blurring the line between the physical plane and the subtle realms in scenes with familiar figures of animals, birds and people.
~ PAINTING ~`"We The People" ~ I am beginning a new series on how I see people acting in current daily connections or lack of connections to each other and to life around us . I am observing how we are responding to living in our current corporate and materialistic society and expressing how we are responding to each other from the perspective of our current mass consciousness. I choose scenes of small gatherings such as the growing wave of farmer's markets. Here I see people's gestures expressing that we are not looking at each other and seem unaware of why we are beginning to come together again in small groups.
STYLE
Ginny Walden 's art is classical and expressionistic in style and expresses philosophical questions and new insights from quantum physics about the various perceptions of different realities. In her sculpture she emphasizes energy, light and space, the concepts of inside and outside, and the infusion of Life Force in her forms. Walden believes that according to her experience as an energy worker, her choice of mythical figures and sacred symbols carved as figures and totems have "qi" or Life Force and contribute to the energetic balance of life around them like crop circles. Her pastels focus on atypical landscapes, seascapes and skyscapes that mysteriously blend different places in time such as a ghostly sea layered onto a desert scene. Her acrylic paintings depict an allegorical world with figures either alone or with familiar life forms such as dogs, birds, and fish in familiar scenes in another dimension.. Walden finds people most intriguing and is exploring connectedness and disconnectedness in our mass consciousness today with scenes of groups of people in various common settings. She will paint on a canvass 3 x 4 or larger to give the viewer the feeling of being in the scene.
"I find the human figure the most fascinating and revealing, because I am one
and because through exploring the figure with allegorical, mythical and sacred symbols I can discover what's most intriguing ~ where humanity is now in our mass consciousness."
EDUCATION and EXHIBITIONS
When she was 15 at the George School, Walden won a scholarship to the Moore College of Art in Philadelphia,PA and later earned her BA degree at Hiram College. At 21 she moved to Santa Fe, NM and pursued her career for 30 years there as an artist. Regionally known in Santa Fe, New Mexico and the Southwest she has shown in numerous galleries, universities and museums as well as at her own gallery in Santa Fe and now in Galisteo. Her work also toured on the ship "Point Counterpoint 2" down the Mississippi River and in Europe and Russia. A life size commission in Portuguese marble called "Do You Believe in Angels" now resides at The Museum of the Southwest in Midland, Texas.
COLLECTIONS
Walden's artworks are in numerous private collections throughout the USA and Canada..
BIO
In 1999, after a bout with advanced breast cancer, Walden changed her life completely and moved to Honolulu, Hawaii where she exhibited her art for 11 years. She also became a CHI-LEL Medical Qigong Master Teacher (one of 5 in the West) and has taught the art of self-healing worldwide. Walden is also an accomplished flamenco guitarist and performed locally for 7 years with her troupe FLAMENCO HAWAII in Honolulu . She is presently recording CD's and performing in Santa Fe, NM.in 2010 she published her book CANCER GONE!, a memoir of her risky treatment, her spontaneous healing and what choices she made to heal breast cancer. A short story of her spontaneous healing "Olympic Heart" is now published in Chicken Soup For the Soul's LIFE LESSONS FOR LOVING THE WAY YOU LIVE co-authored by Jennifer Hawthorne. Walden is 12 years a cancer victor.
UPCOMING EXHIBITIONS
~2011 ART REVEALING THE HEALING: A 40 Year Retrospective 1969-2009 Santa Fe, NEW MEXICO
Walden shows a wider perspective on origins of illness and the natural healing process in her documentation of her 40 years of art from ages of 22-62. "A picture says a thousand words. My art reveals that my healing of breast cancer began years before I was diagnosed! This interests me. This progression of artwork shows clearly that I was healing all along. My cancer tumor was just a boil I needed to pop in order to get the infection out so I could heal completely. I want this show to inspire those with life threatening illness to let go of their fears and realize that our healing process is an effective journey of gradual growth and transformation. I think that healing our given Soul Condition is a lifelong endeavor and our purpose here on Earth and not just a surgical act. " A catalog book and DVD of her retrospective exhibition will be available.
~April 2012 LAND, SEA and SKY Honolulu, HAWAII
Two Woman show with locally known artist Candace Fernander
'After living in Hawaii for the past11 years, this rich experience will surely dovetail with my 30 years of living on the ghost ocean in the extremes of the high desert of northern New Mexico. Hawaii and New Mexico are the Yin and Yang of each other. I am curious to see the new imagery that will evolve for this show.'

My name is Robert Pogorzelski. I have recently gotten into photograpghy in 2009. This is something I was always interested in, however I hadn't taken the initiative to get equipt. I began in early 2009 with a Canon EOS 10D SLR. After numerous problems with the body and having to get it repaired for months at a time, I finally gave up on the Canon. As of December 2009, I now have a Nikon D5000 SLR.
I am currently taking pictures at firegrounds, sports, and events for family and friends. Most pictures are available for download or print at very low cost.
Prints are available in a wide variety of sizes and styles. Merchandise is also available. Printing is done through smugmug.com, however if there is anything you would like different feel free to contact me.
